A wise woman once told me, “It gets boring chasing being comfortable.” Now, the context was in regards to a friend who would often cancel plans with her due to it being “too far away” or “too hot outside” or, well you get the picture, essentially, it was because there might be a moment of being uncomfortable.
This got me thinking: how often do I limit myself for the sake of comfort? How often do I not try things because it might push me outside of my comfort zone? Unfortunately, it’s a lot more common than I’d like to admit. And I’ll be real, I probably won’t jump into finding all the things to make me uncomfortable, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try to say “yes” a few more times when I’d normally say “no,” or that I won’t start thinking about why I’m saying no and if it’s a good enough reason. So here’s to new challenges, and not just chasing comfort.
