One of the most painful lessons of growing up is the lesson of how much things cost. When you’re young and naive, you probably don’t put much thought into the costs of random things like…oh I don’t know, tires???
I wish the world would come up with a reality-check book that would mentally prepare you for the cost of things you don’t think about. If I were to write this book, here are a few things I’d make sure to include:
- Tires for your car! These pesky things weren’t something I often thought about, until recently when I needed to replace my truck tires. Yes, my wallet is crying.
- Snacks! Food is expensive and we can all agree, but have you ever made the mistake of buying snacks for your house? It’s a trap and an expensive one at that. So all those times your parents or your friends’ parents had snacks, just remember how much they actually love you, cause those aren’t cheap.
- Delivery Fees!! I get that convenience costs, and honestly, it should. But does it need to cost that much? All the times you think of ordering in, you should almost plan to double your amount.
Life is expensive, but it’s also worth it all! If you have any other things that you wish you were prepared to know, add them to the list! Maybe we can help others feel more prepared and not so shocked the first time they see those price tags!
