We finally have a new way to prepare salmon!! In my family, we were quickly getting tired of the same few ways we were having salmon for dinner, so this recipe was a very welcomed change. This meal is so easy to prepare it is perfect for the weekly rotation.
Just cube the salmon into inch sized bites. Then marinate in the marinade of your choice for 30 minutes. Air fry at 390 degrees for 7-10 minutes, depending on how many you cook at a time. Make sure there is an inch between the pieces in the air fryer so they can cook evenly. Season with either sesame seeds, cilantro, parsley, or green onions, or all of them! Surprisingly, they didn’t turn out dry. They stayed moist and the caramelization from the marinade added a nice crisp on the outside.
For the seasoning/marinade, you can use any kind of flavor combination. I did one batch using my homemade teriyaki sauce.
Here is my teriyaki marinade in case anyone is interested:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Minced garlic
Minced ginger
Mix to taste.
I made two batches of this marinade–one to put the salmon in to marinate and one to heat on the stove (with some corn starch to thicken) for a sauce to drizzle after cooking. The latter is optional. These salmon bites are perfect for bowls and go well with veggies over rice.
