We just added “Solo” by Ryan Ellis to Project 88.7!
Do you ever feel like you have to figure out life alone? I do sometimes. And I know it’s not true, but I can be very independent and sometimes feel embarrassed by needing help from others, and in those moments I forget it’s okay to need support. Sometimes, when I get overwhelmed in life, I project that onto my relationship with God too, not just with people. But God is so amazing that He always pulls my thoughts and emotions back to Him and reminds me of the truth.
In the Bible, there are tons of verses about God being our Helper, or about crying out to God for help. That’s the same idea Ryan Ellis captures in “Solo.” In his words, we don’t have to try to “run this show” and “fly solo.” We don’t have to live this life on our own; we have God to care for us, help us, and guide us. We can surrender to Him and let Him take control. So, as you listen to this song, remember you have a friend and a helper in God. It’s so freeing to trust in Him and run to Him with everything we need.
Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. (Psalm 63:7 NLT)
But I will call on God, and the Lord will rescue me. Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice. (Psalm 55:16-17 NLT)
