It’s too easy to get caught up worrying about what job you have, how big your house is, how much money you make, or how many accomplishments you have. Your primary focus should be on your continuous growth as a person.
When I was playing soccer, I frequently got caught up worrying about what team I was on, who my coach was, how much playing time I got, or how many goals I scored. I was grateful to have people remind me that my primary focus should be on my continuous development as a soccer player.
Instead of comparing yourself to others, compare yourself exclusively to yourself. Were you able to grow today? Are you better today than you were last year or last month? If you made mistakes, that’s okay, because making mistakes is part of the learning process, and learning means you are working to get better. As you progress through life you will get to where you want to be.
