One of the biggest things I’ve learned as a coach is that if I don’t take time to process a new season and get clear on what matters and what doesn’t, I will going into the season aimlessly instead of intentionally. This truth has become very applicable to other areas of life.
Setting boundaries is a difference maker. If I don’t decide ahead of time what genuinely needs my focus this upcoming season, I will be pulled in a million different directions and will let games, training, players, and parents decide what my boundaries are. And that is not a good thing.
I would encourage you to take time to process what’s important. When you do, it will be a lot more freeing and fun to know what requires your focus and know what you can phase out. New seasons are exciting! Praying for God to bless you as you start a new season of your own!
