“Take care” is a popular saying. Whether it’s used to end a conversation or email, seen on a greeting card, or heard in a song, the phrase sometimes loses its meaning just by being a closing phrase.
What does it mean to take care of yourself? We’ve seen the popularity of the self-care movement. We heard about how important self-care is for our own health and well-being, but how do we take care of ourselves daily? Sometimes it looks like keeping good habits, being of a positive nature, or making a difference in the world. But it should not require pressure to be perfect.
God is on this path with us. He shows us grace and teaches us how to have grace for others. But what about having grace for ourselves? We can take care of ourselves by allowing God to work in us. And when we submit to God, He grows us from the inside out.
