I’ve been kicking a soccer ball since I could walk. I am not nearly as good kicking a ball as I once was. In my prime, a ball at my foot felt natural. As a kid, I modeled my play after Pele, one of the greatest to play the game. Through soccer, I learned a lot about life. Most important was to “strike with conviction.”
In soccer, you strike with conviction when you shoot a soccer ball on goal. If you are not too familiar with the sport, imagine kicking a soccer ball with your toes pointed downward, running through the ball with your laces, and making sure to follow through with your kicking motion. The form has to be confident and composed.
Whatever your personal goal is, you have to be true to your efforts. If you don’t believe in yourself to hit the target, you never will. It’s all about timing, positioning, and execution. Take the time to think not only about what your goals are, but also how, where, and when you plan to go for them. With this mindset you will hit more of your goals through patience, persistence, and even practice. Lastly, be confident and decisive.
