I’m not sure what “season” you are in but, for me, soccer season has started. We don’t have games yet, but they will be here quickly. I used to get lost when it comes to priorities. However, now I take the time to outline my priorities.
I answer the following questions o get clear on what my priorities are:
What matters to me?
What do I care about?
What will require my time?
Where does God want me and what is He leading me to do?
What projects have to be completed and can’t slip through the cracks?
What do my players, parents, and club administrators need from me this next season?
What does my family need from me?
The answers give me a framework to operate within, and they can do the same for you. From there, you can establish your bandwidth.
I would caution you that you could be entering a season where you will have priorities that choose you instead of you choosing them. What I mean is that there are those seasons of life that come to you unexpectedly and without a choice. You will not have had the time to prepare. Again, these questions are a good “go to list” for when these moments come.
Keeping the answers to this list of questions and going over them from time to time will allow you to manage your “season.”
