The foot pain in real.
Our family spent the past week doing the theme park thing in Orlando and my legs, down to the bottom of my abused soles remind me with every movement of my time in the parks where I logged 15,000+ steps a day for 6 days in a row. Rough work for this desk jockey.
Some of the best moments were when we paused for a few moments to just rest, rejuvenate, and rub our sore muscles. It was enough to get us going for the next leg and allowed us to take some advice from Dory in in Finding Nemo, and “just keep swimming.”
When I find that life gets to be a tiring slog, to the point where my body is reminding me to just stop, I need to listen. Eventually, I need to get up, push through the pain, and keep going. We found that some of our best memories this past week happened during the final moments of the day when we were the weakest and running on fumes. If we had given up, we would have missed them.
So this week, keep going. Yes. Also, take some time to stop, give that beaten and bruised body some rest and TLC, and be prepared for some of your best moments ahead as you rev up to continue the journey.
Tired feet and all.
