This week has been long.
Allergy season started early for me and it has absolutely drained my body. A few days ago, after driving 40 minutes to work and sneezing/sniffing the entire way there, I just sat in my car, not being able to muster the energy to open the door, get out, and start a full day of work. I closed my eyes and prayed something simple. “Lord, help me today.”
I got out and was startled at the sound of geese flying nearby. Looking up, I saw hundreds–maybe thousands–of geese in migration. Their endless arrow-shaped flight formations pointed towards the sunrise over the foothills. I froze, eyes closed towards the sky, basking in the simple instructions for my day.
“Look towards the Son.”
There are days when I just don’t feel like moving. I’m beat up, tired, exhausted, spent. I typically don’t lean in well to God’s presence during those times, but this moment reminded me I don’t have to lean in very far. I just need to ask for His presence, His help, His strength. To simply turn my eyes towards Him.
He is near.
Look towards the Son.
