My daughter really wanted a White Christmas.
The weather report was watched closely and the disappointment built as hope faded for that reality.
Christmas came and went with no snow, but when we woke up on December 26, we were surprised that our White Christmas came a day late.
My daughter ran out into the garage as I left to run some errands that morning and said something pretty profound. “You know what Dad? I really wanted it to snow on Christmas, but I’m ok that it didn’t because I realized that it’s in God’s timing and not mine.”
I was like, “WHOA!” As a parent, you want to hear your kids processing these deep thoughts about God. So often we want things to happen on our schedule, and when they don’t, we get so disappointed.
However, God’s timing is perfect, and we were reminded about that with a snowy morning on December 26.
