“It’s not a fair fight.”
I’m a huge Marvel fan, and while watching the new season of Loki, the villain turned hero (we think), responded to an adversary’s complaint that magic was being used to settle an argument.
“Fight fair!” the assailant demanded.
Ever feel this way? Whatever you’re facing, chances are, you’ve faced it before. You’ve stood up to it. You’ve lost. You’ve gained your composure. You’ve found yourself right back where you started. Yelling at the kids. Visiting that site. Drinking one too many. Prioritizing self.
The war is lopsided, and it’s not a fair fight.
Sin is in our hearts. Embedded and at home, unable to be eradicated from existence. From the first days in the garden, humanity has fallen. Over and over again.
But God.
He came. He took on our shortcomings. He made a way. And now, our enemy sits defeated, and battered in the corner, whimpering about how unfair the fight is.
Yes. The fight is not fair. But not because sin is against us. But because God is for us. And He is in our corner.
