“Even when it seems I’m surrounded by my own fears, and though I’m hurting in my suffering and trama, I still stay faithful and speak words of faith.” –Psalm 116:10 (TPT)
I’m sure there are days where you simply feel you have nothing to give. I was there this past week as I showed up for youth night after an incredibly long week at work and home, expected to give a lesson to the students that I was barely prepared for.
I wanted to pass the baton, go home, accept my failure and go to bed. But I stayed, I structured a night of short group discussion, we played some games and all left laughing, smiling and none the wiser that I was struggling to even be there.
You know what God whispered to me later that night? “Thanks for showing up.”
Stay faithful. God will honor that.
Even if it’s a bit messy, rough around the edges and not up to par. All the performance and perfection we tend to bring to the process doesn’t matter. He’s simply inviting us to keep showing up, and I’m forever thankful for that invitation.
Have a great week! –Kevin
