If you had a rough start, you can still have a strong finish. Don’t let your beginning hold you back. Poverty, abuse, and other challenges may have put you in a position you do not want to be in right now. Even worse, there is the reality of dragging those burdens with you as you desperately continue scraping to move forward.
In addition to a rough start is the pain of having to “start over” in life too. If you are like me, there is a time where you have achieved a degree of success and status, only to lose it all due to making mistakes you knew you should not have made.
If you have a goal or a path you are wanting to follow to a destination, What is your plan?
Coming out of the New Life Program from the Boise Rescue Mission, I knew I had my work cut out for me. I had two children I needed to reconnect with and get back into their lives. I needed to regain trust with them, their mother and a lot of other people. There was a lot of fear and uncertainty, however, I was ready to take that on. However, I had a plan. I took time to write it, review it, and found the support network to back me up. I still follow it to this day. I am where I need to be.
Again, what is your plan?
Hopefully, you can take some time to think of your plan and how you are going to get it done. Have some people you look up to review it. Tap into your support system when you need to. That’s what they are there for. Along the way, you will find that when you reach your destination, you will be happy you had a plan. Where you finish will outshine where you came from.
