Kindness seems to be the new “hot thing”. The phrase “be kind” is everywhere, and I’m not upset about it. Kindness needs to be a high priority in our world today. One thing that I love about this new Kindness wave is that it’s becoming a common occurrence.
We all get those jolts of happiness when we witness someone being kind, maybe it’s a kid that shares their favorite toy, or someone in the drive-thru line in front of you, paying for your order. Regardless of where the kindness happens, we’re always excited to see it…ALMOST.
I know what you’re thinking, isn’t kindness ALWAYS something we’re excited to see? And normally you’d be right, but let me ask you this…Do you like kindness at a 4-way stop? If your answer is “yes,” you’re lying. No one likes kindness at 4-way stops. No one wants you to let them go first, and the awkward dance of chicken that happens after someone shows kindness at a 4-way stop will never be appreciated. So while kindness is welcomed and encouraged, let’s keep it out of our 4-way-stops.
Actually, that could be the kindest thing you do end up doing!
