Hey Project Community
Bossman Brian here. As you have probably heard, Summer Splash didn’t go as planned this past Thursday night. There’s a lot about that online–I just want to talk to you as me, Brian…
I saw God in the way you, the Project community rolled with it and had such a great attitude. We came for a hip-hop show and ended up with a night in the water park and an acoustic concert. And you rolled with it–with smiles on your faces. Some felt it was better to head home–and I see God in how you protected your family.
I saw God in the fact that what could have been a very terrible night ended with no one injured.
I saw God in the Roaring Springs and Project staff at Roaring Springs who adapted, adjusted, and served us all.
I saw Him in the officers who had a job to do but treated us with respect and compassion.
And I experienced God in the worship that Joseph O’Brien led out in. God turned a terrible situation around for good. And, as we wrapped up the second mini-concert with Joseph, we just knew God was leading–and that as strange as it seemed, we needed to give people a chance to respond to God. Several young people raised their hands, accepting Jesus for the first time.
Thursday night was not what we planned. Bad things happen in this broken world–but in those dark moments, we see God shining brightly. This is why I should not have been surprised that I kept hearing, “Tonight was amazing!” Because, God is just amazing.
