They say, “It’s the little things in life”, you know, the little things that bring joy and happiness. Well, it’s true, the little things make a BIG difference. I’m a chronic stress case, if there is something to be worried about, I’m doing just that. Which, of course, doesn’t help my generalized anxiety, but here we are.
Over the last year, although my stress has been higher than ever, I’ve found my “little thing” to help combat that. Little Kawaii plushies. Kawaii is just the Japanese term for cute, and if you ever visit my office, it’s full of Kawaii things. It’s my “little thing in life”.
And while I often feel silly for being a 20-something professional with an office full of stuffed animals, I’ve learned to just accept it as my little thing. The little thing that calms my emotional storm so that I can show up at home being the better mom and wife that I want to be. Because at the end of the day, that’s my goal, be a great mom and wife, and if little stuffed animals can help me achieve that, then there is no shame to be had.
So what’s your little thing?
